Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
24. This is because they say (and it has become their belief) that the Fire will not touch them except for a few numbered days [28], and the lies they invented in their religion have deceived them.
[28] The Jews’ Reliance on Mere Wishes for Salvation in the Hereafter and the Belief in Easy Salvation:
In this verse, the reason for the Jews’ boldness in altering the Book of Allah and committing many other major sins is explained. Their ancestors invented a belief on their own and spread it throughout their entire nation. That belief was that the Jews would not enter Hell. The fire of Hell has been made forbidden for them; even if they do enter Hell, they will remain there only for as many days as they worshipped the calf. Another belief that became common among them was that they said, “We are the sons and beloved ones of Allah because we are the descendants of the Prophets, and Allah has promised Jacobؑ that He will not punish his descendants except just nominally, only for the sake of an oath.” Similarly, the Christians have established the doctrine of the atonement of the Messiah, according to which Jesusؑ was crucified as an atonement for the sins of his community and cleared all the accounts of their sins and disobedience. Then, the Muslims have not lagged behind in this matter either; among them are some Sayyids, or those who claim to be Sayyids, who have made it famous about themselves that their lineage is pure, therefore they will not be punished by the fire. Some people have constructed “heavenly gates” in this world, claiming that whoever passes beneath them will surely enter Paradise. And some people are relying on their spiritual leaders and saints, whether they are alive or deceased, believing that they will intercede for them and save them from Allah’s grasp, and so on and so forth. «اللهم انا نعوذ بك من شرور انفسنا»
