Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

106. On the Day when some faces will be bright and some faces will be dark, it will be said to those whose faces are dark: "Did you disbelieve after having believed [97]? Then taste the punishment for what you used to disbelieve."

Sectarianism is Disbelief:

In the previous verse, the mention was of the true sect and the misguided sects. In this verse, the meaning of adopting disbelief after having faith is not that they became Jews, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, etc. Rather, it means that by including many baseless and false things in their religion, or by denying some essentials of the faith, or by adopting atheistic beliefs, they departed from the true religion. This is disbelief less than outright disbelief, and all these matters are referred to by the word "kufr" (disbelief). Thus, on the Day of Resurrection, only those faces will be bright who remained steadfast and firm upon the true religion. And these are the people who will be under the shade of Allah's mercy, while those who, by joining misguided sects, adopted the path of disbelief—their faces will be blackened, and they will have a painful punishment.
