Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

[96] The System of Day and Night as Proof of Allah’s Perfect Power:
Allah the Exalted has, at numerous places, counted the system of night and day among His greatest feats of power and wonders. A superficial person considers these signs as part of daily routine and does not pay attention to them. But those who have studied this system in depth are well aware of its complexities. It is clear that the day and night are related to the sun. The difference of opinion has been about whether our earth is stationary and the sun revolves around it, or the sun is stationary and the earth revolves around it, or both these celestial bodies are in motion. In this regard, four theories have changed up to now. In the era of the Prophet, the experts in astronomy and cosmology believed that our earth is stationary and the sun revolves around it, whereas today’s theory (which is the fourth and latest theory) is that our earth, firstly, rotates on its own axis; secondly, it rotates on its axis at an angle of 66 degrees; thirdly, it also revolves around the sun. Then, our entire solar system, along with its planets, revolves around a greater sun and also rotates on its own axis. And all these planets are moving in the vast expanse of space in such a way that none collides with another. They maintain their distances, and there is neither a decrease nor an increase in their speed. And they are firmly held in their respective places while revolving. This is the extremely complex system from which our system of day and night is produced. Changes in seasons occur. Sometimes the days start to become longer, and sometimes the nights, and all these changes have various effects on all the earthly creatures. Now, according to the current theory, the question arises: Tell me, if Allah the Exalted were to stop the axial rotation of the earth, the result would be that half of the earth would always remain in night, and the half facing the sun would always remain in daylight. So tell me, besides Allah, is there any deity of yours who can set this earth’s rotation in motion again and save you from all the calamities that could befall you in such a situation? Allah has made the night dark and cool. So, in the part where it is always night, the people there would die from the cold, let alone being able to work. And in the part where the sun shines, the people there would die from the sun’s heat, let alone being able to rest. Allah has created such a wise system that is based on the welfare of all creatures.
[97] When Allah mentioned the perpetual night, He said: ﴿أفَلاَتَسْمَعُوْنَ﴾ and when He mentioned the perpetual day, He said: ﴿أفَلاَتُبْصِرُوْنَ﴾ This is because seeing is related to light, and in darkness, a person cannot see, but he can certainly hear.
