فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُفْلِحِينَ ﴿67﴾
But as for him who repented (from polytheism and sins), believed (in the Oneness of Allâh, and in His Messenger Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and did righteous deeds (in the life of this world), then he will be among those who are successful.
فَأَمَّا fa-ammā But as for

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

But as for the one who repented, believed, and did righteous deeds, it is hoped [91] that he will be among the successful.

[91] This is a royal style of speech. That is, on that day, the person who repented from following his desires and disobeying Allah, and brought faith, will surely attain success. Then after that, he continued to perform righteous deeds. In other words, for salvation from Hell, merely repenting and professing faith is not enough; rather, a practical demonstration of that faith is also necessary, which can only be done by performing good deeds.
