Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And after We had destroyed the former generations, We gave Moses the Book as an enlightenment for mankind, and as guidance and mercy [56] so that they might take heed.

[56] By the first generations are meant the previous nations, such as the people of Noah ؑ, the people of ‘Ad, the people of Thamud, the people of Lot ؑ, the people of Shu‘ayb ؑ, and the people of Pharaoh, etc. All these people were disobedient and rebellious towards Allah. All these nations suffered the consequences of denying the truth in this world, and the fate that befell Pharaoh and his companions is also before everyone. After this, We gave Moses the Torah, in which there were enlightening arguments regarding these destroyed nations, and clear guidance was given for the guidance of humanity in the future as well. And this was a special mercy of Allah upon the people, and the purpose of all these things was that humanity might follow the right path in the future and a new era for it might begin. In an authentic hadith, it is mentioned that after the Torah was revealed, Allah did not destroy any nation with a heavenly punishment again, except for the people of one town (the people of the Sabbath), who were turned into monkeys.
