سُوْرَةُ الْقَصَصِ
Surah Al-Qasas (28) — Ayah 19
فَلَمَّآ أَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَبْطِشَ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّهُمَا قَالَ يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ أَتُرِيدُ أَن تَقْتُلَنِى كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًۢا بِٱلْأَمْسِ ۖ إِن تُرِيدُ إِلَّآ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِينَ ﴿19﴾

Then when he decided to seize the man who was an enemy to both of them, the man said: "O Mûsâ (Moses)! Is it your intention to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? Your aim is nothing but to become a tyrant in the land, and not to be one of those who do right."

Then, when Moses intended to strike the man who was an enemy to both of them, he cried out, "O Moses! Do you want to kill me as you killed a man yesterday [29]? You only want to become a tyrant in the land, and you do not wish to be of those who set things right."

The Secret of the Copt’s Killer Being Revealed:
After reproaching the Israelite in this manner, Musa (peace be upon him) intended to seize the Copt and deliver the Israelite from him. However, the Israelite thought that since Musa (peace be upon him) had reproached him today, he now wanted to lay hands on him. Therefore, he immediately cried out and said, “Musa, do you want to kill me as you killed a man yesterday? It seems that in the case of a dispute between two people, you only know how to kill someone. You do not know how to listen to their case and reconcile or settle between them.” When the Copt heard this from the mouth of the Israelite, he left the quarrel right there and immediately ran to inform Pharaoh and his officials that the killer of the Copt who was killed yesterday is Musa. Thus, the secret that Allah had kept hidden was exposed by this foolish Israelite himself, for whose support he (Musa) had struck the Copt. When Pharaoh’s officials found out the identity of the murderer, the order for Musa’s (peace be upon him) arrest was issued.
