Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? High Exalted be Allâh above all that they associate as partners (to Him)!

63. Who is it that guides you through the darkness of the land and the sea [67], and who sends the winds as heralds of His mercy [68] before it comes? Is there any god with Allah? Exalted is Allah above what they associate with Him.
[67] The Benefits of the Stars:
To determine the way during the darkness of night, Allah Almighty created the moon and the stars. For their movement, Allah Almighty has set such rules that these celestial bodies cannot violate them. And the benefit of this natural system to humans is that they can also know how much of the night has passed and in which direction they are traveling at that time. In addition, with the light of these celestial bodies, the paths also become visible. And nowadays, the instrument of the compass that has been invented is also indebted to these celestial bodies. If Allah Almighty had not created these stars, or if there was no regularity in their system of movement, or if they were without light, then humans would not have been able to travel in the darkness of night at all—whether this journey was on land or at sea—and a journey by sea could have resulted in death for them. This entire system has been made by Allah, in which He has no partner. But at the time of worshipping Allah, you forget Him. Or you consider others as His equals and begin to regard them as worthy of worship as well.
[68] For its explanation, see the footnote number 6 of verse number 48 of Surah Al-Furqan.
