Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
I will send them a gift (as a test), and see what response [32] my envoys bring back."
[32] The Departure of the Delegation to Sayyiduna Sulaiman (ʿalayhis-salām):
From the queen’s speech, it was clear that she was not ready for confrontation. However, she was also not immediately prepared to submit. Therefore, she took a wise and moderate approach. This was to send a delegation to Prophet Sulaiman (ʿalayhis-salām) along with some gifts. From their reaction, their mindset would become completely clear. Thus, she sent, in the form of the hoopoe, a great amount of wealth, some gold bricks, and some rare items, and selected for the delegation such people who were very handsome. In reality, she wanted to test Prophet Sulaiman (ʿalayhis-salām) to see what kind of things he was fond of. Also, if he was a worldly king, he would accept the gifts. In that case, war could also be waged against him. But if he was a prophet, he would not accept the gifts, nor would confrontation be possible with him.
