Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
139. So they denied Hud, and We destroyed them [87]. Surely, in this is a sign [88], but most of them would not believe.
[87] The Nature of the Punishment on the People of ‘Ad:
When those people exceeded all limits in denying Hud (peace be upon him) and the promised punishment, and the argument was completed against them, then Allah’s punishment descended upon them. This punishment came as the wrath of Allah. A fierce and violent wind blew, which continued for eight days and seven nights without interruption. The wind was so strong that it would uproot standing people from their feet and hurl them upon one another. This wind would enter their strong and magnificent houses and destroy every single individual among them. At the time of this punishment, their strong and grand houses were of no use to them. And this rebellious and arrogant nation was completely destroyed and ruined. Allah had already revealed to Hud (peace be upon him) before this punishment. Thus, before the punishment, he left that place, migrating with his followers.
[88] The outcome of this nation also leads to the conclusion that Allah destroys the deniers of the truth after the argument is completed, and He Himself creates the means of salvation for His obedient servants. If only someone could take a lesson from this dreadful end. But such people are very few.
