Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with this Qur’an with a mighty striving [64].

Why and How to Engage in the Great Jihad Against the Disbelievers?

That is, if We had willed, We could have sent a separate prophet to every town, and everywhere the battles between truth and falsehood would have taken place. But Our will is that now only one sun of prophethood has been sent, whose messengership is equally for all people and will remain until the Day of Judgment. Just as one sun is illuminating the whole world and will continue to do so until the Day of Judgment. Now, it is evident that the greater the prophet, the greater will be the battle between truth and falsehood. That is why it has been emphasized that there is no need for any kind of compromise with the disbelievers. Rather, confront these disbelievers with all your strength. Although this address is apparently to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the entire Ummah is included in it. The literal meaning of jihad is to make a full effort to achieve a goal, and in "jihad kabir" (the great jihad), there is even more emphasis, as well as breadth and expansion. That is, every individual of this Ummah should leave no stone unturned in this effort and use all their resources. Secondly, the enemy should be confronted on every front where anti-Islamic forces are active. This includes jihad with the tongue and pen, with wealth, and with weapons and artillery as well. In short, wherever the enemy attacks, he should be confronted with full force on that very front.
