Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
46. Then, as the sun rises, We gradually draw the shadow in towards Ourselves, little by little [58].
[58] Allah Almighty gathers the shadows from their spreading, and even then, He gathers them gradually and slowly. The complete gathering of the shadows occurs exactly at midday or when the sun is overhead, when a right angle is formed. After that, the shadows gradually and slowly begin to increase again. There are many benefits hidden in this gradualness, and in the world, whatever change occurs, the law of gradualness operates in it. If this law of gradualness did not exist, life would become difficult for every living being. For example, if as soon as the sun rose, there was as much intense heat as there is at noon, and this heat remained just as intense until sunset, and then suddenly, upon sunset, it became cold all at once, then this too could prove very harmful for every living being.
