Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

25. On that Day, the sky will be split open with clouds appearing, and the angels will be sent down in ranks [35].

The Heavens and the Earth Will Become as Smoke and Mixed Up as Before on the Day of Resurrection:

One meaning of this verse is as apparent from the translation. The second meaning is that the matter from which the heavens were created will be returned to that same matter. In Surah Fussilat, Allah Almighty said: ﴿ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰٓي اِلَي السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ﴾ [11:41] "Then Allah turned to the sky, and at that time it was only smoke." And in another place He said: The heavens and the earth were all mixed and joined together, then Allah separated and parted them. [21: 30]
In the beginning, there was only smoke or a collection of gases. From this, Allah Almighty made the earth and the heavens. And on the Day of Resurrection, these heavens will be turned back into smoke, which will take the form of clouds. From these clouds, the angels will be sent down in groups towards the plain of resurrection.
