Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the Remembrance of Allâh (with heart and tongue), nor from performing As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), nor from giving the Zakât. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (out of the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

37. Men whom neither trade nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah, and from establishing prayer; they fear a Day in which hearts and eyes [63] will be overturned (in anxiety).

[63] The quality of these rightly guided people is that they remain engaged in the remembrance of Allah both inside their homes and outside, never becoming heedless of Allah’s remembrance. Even while working or conducting business, the remembrance of Allah remains present in their hearts, which restrains them from every act of disobedience to Allah. They do not seek only the benefits of this short-lived life; rather, their gaze is fixed on the eternal life of the Hereafter, and they remain fearful of being held accountable for their deeds before Allah. The reason is that the Day itself will be so severe and terrifying, in which every person’s heart will be restless and eyes will be unsettled. Even these rightly guided people will sometimes be hopeful of Allah’s mercy and at other times fearful of Allah’s punishment and His grasp. The same will be the state of their eyes: sometimes looking to the right, sometimes to the left, to see on which side their record of deeds will be handed to them.
