بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ﴿90﴾
Nay, but We have brought them the truth (Islâmic Monotheism), and verily, they (disbelievers) are liars.
بَلْ bal Nay
أَتَيْنَـٰهُم ataynāhum We (have) brought them
بِٱلْحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi the truth
وَإِنَّهُمْ wa-innahum but indeed, they
لَكَـٰذِبُونَ lakādhibūna surely, (are) liars

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

90. Rather, We have brought them the truth, and surely they are liars [87].

[87] In the previous verses, the establishment of proof against the polytheists is completed by their admission of three things: On one hand, they admit that Allah Almighty is the owner of everything and all authority and power rests in His hands. This means that Allah is also the owner of their deities, and those deities are just as owned as the other things and creatures of the universe, and a owned being can never share in the authority of the owner. This is the truth that We have informed them of, and which they themselves admit. As for their verbal claims that their deities also possess some authority, even on the basis of their own admission, they are proven to be liars.
