Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
78. He is the One who gave you hearing, sight, and hearts [79] (so that you may listen, see, and reflect), but little are you grateful.
[79] That is, Allah did not give you eyes, ears, and hearts so that you would use them only as much as animals do. That you only see what appears to bring you worldly benefit, and only listen to such things, and only think about your business and livelihood, or be concerned only with which means can increase your sources of income. After all, Allah has granted you faculties greater than those of animals—how have you used them? Allah gave you eyes not just to fulfill your worldly needs, but also to see the signs of Allah scattered throughout the universe. Listen attentively with your ears to the verses sent down from Allah. Then, by reflecting on all these signs, attain the recognition of Allah and express gratitude to Him. To use these faculties merely for worldly interests, like animals, not only indicates ingratitude to Allah, but also shows that you are proving yourselves to be even worse than animals.
