Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
72. Or do you ask them for any wealth? But what your Lord has given you [74] is better, and He is the best of providers.
[74] A fourth reason for the denial of your call by these people could have been that you were asking them for compensation for your efforts in preaching, and they, considering it a penalty, would refuse because of this. But this was not the case. Not only were you selflessly carrying out the work of inviting to the religion, but this also created several issues. Before prophethood, you used to trade. After prophethood, this occupation ceased. Previously, you were wealthy; later, you fell into poverty. Before, you were the apple of your people’s eyes; afterwards, the same people became your enemies. The people, in an attempt to compromise, tempted you by piling up immense wealth at your feet, but you rejected it. From this, these people cannot even realize that a person who is enduring so many hardships and rendering such service without compensation cannot have any worldly motive. And the One for whose sake he is bearing so many difficulties, the reward for that is also His responsibility, and He provides sustenance through such means that no one could even imagine.
