Verily, in this [what We did as regards drowning of the people of Nûh (Noah)], there are indeed Ayât (proofs, evidence, lessons, signs, etc. for men to understand), for sure We are ever putting (men) to the test.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

30. Surely in this there are many signs, and We always put people to the test [35].

[35] That is, in the story of Prophet Nuh (Noah) ؑ there are many things from which a thoughtful person can take a lesson. And whenever We send a prophet, the trial of the nation begins at that time. It is also a test for the prophet and his followers, to see to what extent they act with patience and steadfastness, and for the deniers, to see to what extent they adopt rebellion. Then those who succeed in this test are rewarded and helped, and the opponents are given due punishment. Then We also observe who among the later generations, after hearing these signs, takes heed and admonition, and who does not.
