ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ نُطْفَةً فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ ﴿13﴾
Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman).
ثُمَّ thumma Then
جَعَلْنَـٰهُ jaʿalnāhu We placed him
نُطْفَةًۭ nuṭ'fatan (as) a semen-drop
فِى in
قَرَارٍۢ qarārin a resting place
مَّكِينٍۢ makīnin firm

13. Then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a secure place [12] (the womb).

[12] That is, the womb of the mother is such a secure place where the drop of fluid receives the appropriate warmth for growth, but is completely protected from the effects of extreme heat or cold, etc., and it cannot even move from there.
