Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

1. The believers have indeed succeeded [1].

The Meaning of ﴿افلح﴾:

In ﴿افلح﴾ (root: ف ل ح) three fundamental meanings are found: (1) to split open, (2) success, and (3) continuity (Maqayis al-Lughah). And "falaah" means a farmer who splits the earth to sow seeds, attains success when the crop ripens, and achieves his goal by benefiting from it. Thus, the meaning of ﴿افلح﴾ is such success that results from one's own actions and efforts.

Six Qualities of the Believers for Success:

Due to being the custodians of the Ka'bah, all the Arab tribes respected and feared them. In these circumstances, the declaration of the believers' success was not only a glad tiding for the Muslims, but it also made clear that the concept and standard of success in the eyes of a worldly person is fundamentally wrong. For worldly and hereafter success, the qualities that are necessary are the very six qualities that are mentioned in the following verses.
