Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
It is He, Who gave you life, and then will cause you to die, and will again give you life (on the Day of Resurrection). Verily man is indeed an ingrate.

It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
66. He is the One Who gave you life, then will cause you to die [95], then will bring you back to life. Indeed, mankind is a great denier of the truth.
[95] Allah giving life to a human being is such a favor that every person considers it a favor. And Allah granting death to a human is a favor in the sense that if, from Adam until the present era, all creation had remained alive, then there would not even be space for a human to stand on the earth, let alone the provision of means of livelihood and necessities of life. Therefore, Allah, by putting the former ones to sleep in death, provides space and necessities of life for those who come after. Similarly, resurrecting after death and then rewarding or punishing each according to his deeds is also a great favor of Allah upon mankind. If Allah had not informed mankind of this life of the Hereafter and its details through revelation, and had not warned them of the outcome, then the powerful and predatory humans would have devoured the weak humans and would never have given them the right to live. The ultimate result of this would be that, due to continuous war and unrest in the world, the very existence of mankind would be wiped off the face of the earth. Despite so many favors of Allah, the condition of man is such that he neither reflects on such realities nor is he grateful to Allah for these favors.
