Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

54. And so that those who have been given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord, and they may believe in it, and their hearts may humble themselves to it. And surely Allah guides those who believe to the straight path [83].

Why Did the Polytheists Prostrate?

That is, the believers immediately understand that a certain matter is indeed divine revelation or could be, and that another matter is a satanic whisper or deception. It should be clear that, from the above-mentioned incident, only its last part is correct and is mentioned in authentic hadiths. That is, on one occasion, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited Surah An-Najm. At its conclusion, he and the Muslims prostrated, so the polytheists sitting nearby also prostrated, except for one person (Umayyah bin Khalaf), who picked up a handful of pebbles and touched them to his forehead, saying, "This is enough for me." [بخاری۔ کتاب التفسیر۔ تفسیر سورۃ والنجم]
As for the claim that the Quran contains praise of idols or that such words were uttered by his blessed tongue ﷺ, the believers immediately understand that this is impossible. As for the polytheists prostrating along with the Muslims, the reason was the inherent effect of the Quran, due to which they used to call the Quran magic and him a magician, and had imposed a ban on Muslims reciting the Quran aloud, as their women and children would be influenced by it. Even they themselves could not remain unaffected by the impact of the Quran.
