Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
2. On that Day you will see every nursing mother forget her nursing child, and every pregnant woman will miscarry, and you will see people as if they are intoxicated, though they are not intoxicated; rather, the punishment of Allah [1] will be severe.
[1] According to the current theory of astronomy, our earth revolves around the sun. The distance between the sun and the earth is 93 million miles. And the period in which the earth completes one revolution around the sun is what we call a year. According to this calculation, our earth is revolving around the sun at a speed of 66,600 miles per hour. Then, in this vast space, not only our earth is in motion, but all the planets are similarly engaged in rotation. All of them have separate orbits, and attraction, gravitation, and mutual pull have been placed among these planets. Because of this, they do not collide with each other. And all these things are happening under the control and planning of Allah Almighty. Every planet and everything is so strictly bound to the laws set by Allah Almighty that neither their speed changes in the slightest, nor do they collide with each other, and these are all matters that every person himself is witnessing and testifying to. Among the signs of the nearness of the Day of Judgment is also this: that the sun will rise from the west instead of the east. In other words, the sun will start moving in the opposite direction. According to the current theory, we can also say that the earth will start moving in the opposite direction, and the theory of some planets moving in reverse is well-known among astronomers. According to the Ptolemaic theory, there are five planets—Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Venus, Mercury—that, after moving in a straight path, start moving in reverse, and after some time, resume their straight path. These planets are called "Khamsa Mutahayyira" (the five wanderers). The confirmation of moving in reverse and then resuming the straight path is also found in the following verse of the Noble Quran: ﴿فَلَاأُقْسِمُبِالْخُنَّسِالْجَوَارِالْكُنَّسِ﴾[16: 15: 80] "So I swear by those stars that, while moving on a straight path, suddenly retreat (and) by those that move straight but then deviate a little (and also by those) that disappear."
How the Day of Judgment Will Occur, the Collision of Planets, and Its Terror:
Then, when Allah Almighty intends to establish the Day of Judgment, it will only be that He will remove the force of attraction and gravitation from one planet, and our earth will collide with another planet and be shattered to pieces. Now, just imagine, if two trains or two fast-moving buses collide, what a disaster occurs. And when our earth, which is revolving at the lightning speed of 66,600 miles per hour, collides with a planet moving at nearly the same speed, what a catastrophe will ensue. This very scene is presented in these two verses: that from the terror of this explosion, every pregnant woman will miscarry, and people will become so bewildered as if they are intoxicated. The horror of this scene is presented in some other verses as follows: "At that time, the earth will be shattered and broken into pieces" [89: 21]; "The earth will throw out its treasures, such as oil, gases, and minerals, from within itself and will become empty" [84: 4]; the mountains will fly about like carded wool, and people will be so panic-stricken, falling over each other, like moths falling around a light. [101: 4۔ 5] In short, the terror and horror of the occurrence of the Day of Judgment have been mentioned at many other places in the Quran. The Day of Judgment is actually the name of a long period, and according to the Quran, the duration of that day is fifty thousand years by our current reckoning. During this long period, there will be many moments whose terror, horror, and panic will be of this kind. Thus, in the following hadith, the terror and panic mentioned is certainly not the moment of the establishment of the Day of Judgment, but rather some other time. And the cause of this terror and panic is not the earthquake or explosion of the Day of Judgment, but rather the fear of going to Hell.
The Share of Yajuj and Majuj in Hell:
Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudriؓ says that the Prophetﷺ said: Allah Almighty will say to Adamؑ on the Day of Judgment, "O Adam!" He will say, "O Lord! I am present, at Your service, whatever You command." Then an angel will call out loudly, "Allah commands him to separate the portion for Hell from your progeny." He will submit, "O Lord! How much should I separate for Hell?" The narrator says, I think the Prophetﷺ said, "Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand." This will be such a severe time that every pregnant woman will miscarry, and the child will become old, and you will see people as if they are intoxicated, though they are not intoxicated, but the punishment of Allah is very severe. This was very hard on the Companions, and their faces changed, so the Prophetﷺ said: "Nine hundred and ninety-nine will be from Yajuj and Majuj, and one will be from you."
Half of the People of Paradise Will Be from the Muslim Ummah:
Then you will be among all creation like a black hair on the side of a white ox, or a white hair on the side of a black ox. And I hope that all of you will be a fourth of the people of Paradise." (Hearing this, out of happiness) we said Allahu Akbar. Then the Prophetﷺ said: "You will be a third of the people of Paradise." We again said Allahu Akbar. Then the Prophetﷺ said: "You will be half of the people of Paradise." We again said Allahu Akbar. [ بخاري : كتاب التفسير]
