Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

77. And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were an evil people, so We drowned them all [64].

[64] The center of Prophet Nuh’s ؑ preaching was the area between the rivers Tigris and Euphrates in Iraq. He was the first prophet who waged jihad against polytheism. Before his appointment, his people had fallen into idol worship, and in the history of humanity, this was the first nation to begin idol worship. His people were extremely stubborn and obstinate. He struggled against them for nine hundred and fifty years, but except for a few individuals, no one believed in him. In fact, they made the lives of him and his few followers miserable. One must acknowledge his patience and endurance over such a long period. Once, in a very sorrowful tone, he prayed to Allah: ﴿فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانتَصِرْ﴾ [54: 10] meaning, "O my Lord, I am overpowered by these people, so You take revenge on my behalf." And once, becoming extremely disappointed by their stubbornness and obstinacy, he made a great supplication: "O Lord! Do not leave any household of the disbelievers remaining on the earth, for the children they will produce will also be wicked and disbelieving, from whom there is no hope of faith." Thus, Allah accepted the prayer of Nuh ؑ. At that time, only this region of the earth was inhabited by humans. Allah sent such a flood in which all the disbelievers drowned and died, and Allah saved Prophet Nuh ؑ and his followers by having them board the Ark.
