They said: "Our Lord! Verily we fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)."

45. Both of them said, "Our Lord! We fear that he may harm us or transgress further [30]."
[30] The Concerns About Going to Pharaoh:
After reaching Egypt, when both brothers became ready to go to Pharaoh and considered inviting that tyrannical and arrogant king, they submitted to their Lord that they are present to comply with His command, but they fear whether he will even be willing to listen to them, or after hearing them, he might flare up in anger, or he might harm them, or he might utter even more insolent words about Allah’s majesty, which would defeat the very purpose. In response, Allah Almighty reassured them, saying that there is no reason to fear him, because I am also with you, hearing and seeing everything. He will not be able to harm you in the least.
