سُوْرَةُ طٰهٰ
Surah Taa-Haa (20) — Ayah 125
قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِىٓ أَعْمَىٰ وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرًا ﴿125﴾

He will say: "O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight (before)."

He will say, 'O my Lord! Why have You raised me up blind, while I used to see [91]?'

The Recompense of Deeds in a Representative Form:
That is, his objection was that in the world he was sighted and could see everything, so why is he being raised blind today? The answer will be given to him that in the world, you acted as if you were blind to My signs. The purpose of granting you eyes was not merely so you could see things of your own interest, but the real purpose was that you should see the signs of Allah. In this regard, you remained blind in the world. The result of your action has now come before you in a representative form. So why are you surprised now? It should be noted that this refers to the beginning of the Resurrection. Later, his eyes will be opened so that he can properly witness Hell and the terrors of the Gathering.
