He (Allâh) said: "Get you down (from the Paradise to the earth), both of you, together, some of you are an enemy to some others. Then if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My Guidance he shall neither go astray, nor shall be distressed.

Allah said: "Both of you (i.e., man and Satan), go down from here, all of you. You will be enemies to one another. Then, if guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor suffer [89]."
[88] Who is Whose Enemy? Who are the Parties?
At this place, the dual form has been used. There can be two meanings of this: one meaning is clear in the translation, that one party was Adam and Hawwa, and the other party was Satan, and in terms of address, their progeny is also included among these parties. The second meaning is that one party is Adam, the other is Hawwa, and the meaning of "jami'an" should be taken as "together, collectively, or at once" instead of "all," and the address is to the progeny of Adam and Hawwa. And the enmity among their progeny will be such that from among their progeny, one party will remain obedient to Allah, and the other will be obedient to Satan. Between these two parties, the battle of truth and falsehood will continue and enmity will remain established.
[89] There are also two meanings of "yashqa": one is that he will not go astray from the path of Paradise, nor will he, being deprived of it, suffer the torments of Hell. Rather, he will reach Paradise directly, which was his original homeland. The second meaning of this word is that he will not be afflicted with wretchedness. In the world as well, he will certainly receive his destined share, and in the Hereafter, he will in any case be fortunate.
