Then they both ate of the tree, and so their private parts became manifest to them, and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of the Paradise for their covering. Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

121. So they both ate from it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise [87]. And Adam disobeyed his Lord, so he went astray.

The Immediate Reaction to Tasting the Fruit:

The immediate reaction to eating the fruit of Paradise was that their garments of Paradise were taken away from them, and both Adam and Hawwa became exposed, and they began to see each other’s private parts and felt intense shame. So, they started sticking the leaves of Paradise trees over themselves to cover their private parts. The feeling of hunger and thirst was to come after some time. And they immediately realized that Satan had deceived them and that they had fallen for his trick. At that moment, they remembered the promise they had made to Allah and immediately turned to Allah and began to repent and seek forgiveness.
