And when it is said to them (the Jews), "Believe in what Allâh has sent down," they say, "We believe in what was sent down to us." And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them. Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to them): "Why then have you killed the Prophets of Allâh aforetime, if you indeed have been believers?"

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

91. And when it is said to them, "Believe in what Allah has revealed," they say, "We believe only in what was sent down to us." And they reject anything beyond that, even though it is the truth confirming what is with them. (O Prophet!ﷺ) Ask them, "Then why did you kill the prophets of Allah [108] before, if you were [truly] believers?"

[108] According to their own statement, the Jews did not believe in the Gospel and the Quran because these books were not revealed to them. Now the question is, if you believe in the Torah, is it written anywhere in the Torah that if a prophet comes who confirms the Torah and guides you according to the Torah, you can kill him? If this is not the case, then it means that you do not truly believe in the Torah either. Therefore, in every respect, you are faithless and disbelievers.
