Surah Al-Baqara (2) — Ayah 84

وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَـٰقَكُمْ لَا تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَآءَكُمْ وَلَا تُخْرِجُونَ أَنفُسَكُم مِّن دِيَـٰرِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ ﴿84﴾
And (remember) when We took your covenant (saying): Shed not the blood of your (people), nor turn out your own people from their dwellings. Then, (this) you ratified and (to this) you bear witness.
وَإِذْ wa-idh And when
أَخَذْنَا akhadhnā We took
مِيثَـٰقَكُمْ mīthāqakum your covenant
لَا Not
تَسْفِكُونَ tasfikūna will you shed
دِمَآءَكُمْ dimāakum your blood
وَلَا walā and not
تُخْرِجُونَ tukh'rijūna (will) evict
أَنفُسَكُم anfusakum yourselves
مِّن min from
دِيَـٰرِكُمْ diyārikum your homes
ثُمَّ thumma then
أَقْرَرْتُمْ aqrartum you ratified
وَأَنتُمْ wa-antum while you
تَشْهَدُونَ tashhadūna (were) witnessing
