Do you (faithful believers) covet that they will believe in your religion inspite of the fact that a party of them (Jewish rabbis) used to hear the Word of Allâh [the Taurât (Torah)], then they used to change it knowingly after they understood it?

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Do you, O Muslims,) still hope that they (the Jews) will believe for your sake? Even though a group among them used to hear the Word of Allah, then after understanding it, they knowingly distorted [89] it.

Concealing and Altering the Verses Related to the Last Prophet ﷺ:

This address is actually to the simple-hearted new Muslims of Madinah, who had heard several times from the Jews that a Last Prophet ﷺ was to come, and those who would support him would dominate the whole world. Now, these people have believed, but the Jews did this: they altered the description of the Last Prophet ﷺ that was mentioned in the Torah, and gave the reason for not believing as that his description is different from the one mentioned in the Torah.
