Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

62. Indeed, those who (apparently) believe, and those who are Jews, or Christians [80], or Sabians (without a specific religion)—whoever among them truly believes in Allah and the Last Day and does righteous deeds, they will have their reward with their Lord. And there will be no fear upon them, nor will they grieve.

The Alleged Beliefs of the People of the Book:

Both the Jews and the Christians used to say, as in verse ﴿نَحْنُ اَبْنٰؤُا اللّٰهِ وَاَحِبَّاؤُهٗ [18: 5], "We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones." The Jews said this because they were the descendants of the prophets, and the Christians because they were the community of the son of Allah ﴿مسيح ابن مريم﴾, who, according to their belief, was crucified as atonement for the sins of the community. Allah Almighty struck a severe blow to this alleged belief of these people, saying: Whoever, whether he is a Jew, a Christian, or a Sabian (one who changes his religion), believes in Allah and the Last Day and, out of fear of accountability, does righteous deeds—salvation will be only for such a person. Lineage and relationships will be of no use on that Day.
