Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
5. They are the ones who are on revealed guidance from their Lord [9], and they are the ones who will succeed [10].
[9] See here, the three important fundamental pillars of Islam have been mentioned briefly, and due to this brevity, fasting and Hajj have not been mentioned. Because those people in whom the above five qualities are developed, they will, by themselves, become ready to act upon not only fasting and Hajj but all other Shari'ah commands and prohibitions. And in the following hadith, prayer, fasting, and zakat are mentioned. Since Hajj is obligatory only once in a lifetime and only upon those who have the means, it has not been mentioned.
The Importance and Order of the Pillars of Islam
Talhah bin Ubaidullah ؓ says that a man came to the Holy Prophet ﷺ with disheveled hair. His speech was not understandable, and we kept hearing his voice like the buzzing of bees. When he came near, it became clear that he was asking about Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Islam is to perform five prayers in the day and night." He asked: "Is there anything else obligatory upon me besides this?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "No, except that you perform voluntary (or any supererogatory) prayers." Then the Prophet ﷺ said: "And to fast in Ramadan." He asked: "Is there any other fast obligatory upon me besides this?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "No, except that you keep a voluntary fast." Then the Prophet ﷺ told him about zakat, so he said: "That's all. Is there any other charity obligatory upon me?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "No, except that you give voluntary charity." Then he turned his back and left, saying: "By Allah! I will neither add to this nor decrease from it." The Prophet ﷺ said: "If he is truthful, he will attain his goal (he will be successful)." [10] By salvation (falaah) is meant deliverance from the punishment of Hell and entry into Paradise, as is clearly stated in Surah Aal-e-Imran, verse 185.
