Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

And (remember) when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with terrible torment, slaughtering your sons and letting your women live. In that was a great trial from your Lord [68].

The Reason for Pharaoh's Persecution of the Children of Israel:

Pharaoh had seen a dream, which his astrologers interpreted to mean that a person would be born among the Children of Israel who would destroy him and his kingdom. Pharaoh thought of a solution and issued a decree in his kingdom that any boy born to the Children of Israel should be killed, and any girls born should be made into his slave girls. This measure to save his rule was extremely tyrannical. But what Allah had willed came to pass, and it happened right over Pharaoh's head. Mosesؑ was born. Then Allah Almighty humiliated Pharaoh further by having Mosesؑ raised in his own house. Verse ﴿ وَاللّٰهُ غَالِبٌ عَلٰٓي اَمْرِهٖ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ﴾ [21: 12]
