Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

195. And spend in the way of Allah, and do not throw yourselves into destruction with your own hands [258]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves [259] those who do good.

Spending Wealth in Jihad:

Hazrat Abu Ayyub ؓ says that this verse was revealed about us, the Ansar. When Allah granted honor to Islam and its supporters became many, we said to each other in private, away from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that indeed our wealth has been spent. Now Allah has honored Islam and increased its supporters, so if we now safeguard our wealth and begin to make up for what has already been spent (there is no harm). Upon this, Allah the Exalted revealed this verse, and refuting what we had said among ourselves, He said: keep spending in the way of Allah and do not throw yourselves into destruction. By destruction is meant the guarding of wealth, its improvement, and abandoning jihad. [بخاري، كتاب التفسير، ترمذي ابواب التفسير۔ زير آيت مذكوره] Thus, not spending wealth in jihad has been declared the destruction of that nation.

What is Ihsan? And the Hadith of Jibreel:

There are two ways of carrying out a command. One is to simply comply with it, and the other is to fulfill it with eagerness, love, and in the best possible manner. The first is obedience, and the second is ihsan. Ihsan is a higher degree than obedience and also than justice. It is mentioned in the hadith that when Jibreel came to you in the form of a stranger before all the companions and asked you, "What is ihsan?" you ﷺ replied: "Ihsan is that you worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this, then at least know that He sees you." And it is obvious that worship is not just the name of obligatory or voluntary prayers, but whatever act is done in compliance with Allah's commands, considering it His order, falls under the category of His worship. Whether it relates to the rights of people or the rights of Allah, to transactions or to marriages, performing each of these acts with excellence, adhering to the Shariah commands, and with eagerness and love of the heart is called ihsan.
