Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

165. (Despite these signs) there are some people who take others as equals to Allah [203], loving them as they should love Allah. But those who believe are stronger in their love for Allah [204]. If only the wrongdoers could see—when they behold the punishment—that all power belongs to Allah alone, and that Allah is severe in punishment.

Polytheistic Acts and the Condemnation of Shirk:

That is, they set up their deities as rivals to Allah in His exclusive attributes, and in the rights that should be due to Allah alone as the Creator, Owner, and Sustainer, they associate others with Him. For example, in matters such as ruling over the chain of causes, fulfilling needs, removing difficulties, responding to pleas, listening to prayers, granting children, being aware of everything seen and unseen, considering someone else as the source of law, and setting the boundaries of what is lawful and unlawful. In all these matters, they set up various prophets, saints, angels, jinn, and gods and goddesses as rivals and partners to Allah. Love is a matter of the heart, and it is the source of all actions and deeds; even in this, they give preference to their self-made deities.
[204] Because their love for Allah is constant and enduring. They rely and trust upon Allah in every situation, whereas sometimes, in times of hardship and distress, the love of the polytheists for their deities even fades away.
