ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ وَيَمُدُّهُمْ فِى طُغْيَـٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ ﴿15﴾
Allâh mocks at them and gives them increase in their wrong-doing to wander blindly.

[21] Why are such attributes ascribed to Allah? In some verses of the Quran, certain negative attributes such as mockery, plotting, and deception are ascribed to Allah, and this is merely due to the idiom of the Arabs. It is evident that the Quran was revealed according to the idiom of the Arabs, especially the Quraysh. Such actions are never ascribed to Allah alone, but are used as a response to the actions of the disbelievers. In common parlance, such a situation is called "mushakalah" (correspondence), otherwise the Being of Allah is pure from such attributes. An example of such Arabic idioms is also present in the following verse: ﴿ وَجَزَاءُ سَيِّئَةٍ سَيِّئَةٌ مِثْلُهَا﴾ [42: 40] The recompense of evil is an evil like it (or equal to it).
Whereas, it would be more appropriate to call the recompense of evil as justice, not evil. But in idioms, the word "evil" itself is used. Similarly, here too, Allah's mocking in response means giving the hypocrites a full recompense for their mockery, not mocking in the same way as them. However, in idiom, the word "mockery" itself will be used as a response, and Allah will respond to their mockery in such a way that soon He will expose all their secrets. As a result, these people will be humiliated and disgraced in this world and will face a painful punishment in the Hereafter.

[22] «عَمِهَ» means blindness of the heart or being devoid of the light of insight, whereas for physical blindness the word «عمي» is used. Thus, the hypocrites do not perceive the truth at all.
