And whoso disbelieve in it (the Qur’ân), those are they who are the losers. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

121. Those to whom We have given the Book recite it as it should be recited. They are the ones who truly believe in it [147]. And whoever denies it—such are the losers.

The Just Among the People of the Book:

Among the Jews, there were a few just people who would read and understand their book with sincerity. Such people believed in the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Quran, like Abdullah bin Salam ؓ and his companions. The reason for their faith was that they would read the Torah attentively, with understanding and sincerity, and those who, instead of seeking guidance from the Torah, pursued its distortion and misinterpretation, became failed and losers.
