Many of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even after the truth (that Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is Allâh’s Messenger) has become manifest unto them. But forgive and overlook, till Allâh brings His Command. Verily, Allâh is Able to do all things.

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Many among the People of the Book wish to turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves, even after the truth has become clear to them. (O Muslims!) Forgive [127] and overlook until Allah brings His command [128]. Surely, Allah is capable of all things.

[127] The reason for the Jews’ envy and hostility has already been mentioned above. It is because they wish, through various means and excuses, to turn the Muslims away from Islam and thereby weaken the strength of the Muslims. Therefore, O Muslims! You should fully understand the reality of their inner enmity and malice, and do not become provoked by their reactions, nor get entangled in debates and arguments with them, nor waste your time. Rather, disregard them and leave them to their own state, and with patience, observe what Allah decides regarding them. And Allah will certainly give them their full punishment, for He has power over everything.

[128] The punishment for the mischief of the Jews: Allah’s command was that they should be fought against. Then, some of them (Banu Nadir) were exiled in utter humiliation and later forced to pay jizyah, and some others (Banu Qurayzah) were imprisoned and then killed, and their women and children were made slaves.
