Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Or do you wish to question your [126] Messenger as Mosesؑ was questioned before? And whoever exchanges faith for disbelief has certainly strayed from the straight path.

[126] The second method the Jews adopted to alienate people from Islam was that they would nitpick and present all sorts of questions before the Muslims, telling them to ask their Prophet about this matter, and that one, and yet another. Upon this, Allah Almighty warned that this was the habit of the Jews—they had wearied Musa (Moses) ؑ with continuous questions and demands. Such nitpicking is the way of the disbelievers, and it is done by those who are not inclined towards obedience and submission. Therefore, you should refrain from asking such meaningless and purposeless questions.

The Jews' Pestering with Questions:

And in Surah Ma'idah it is stated: "O Muslims! Do not ask your Messenger such questions that, if answered, would trouble you." [5: 101] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeatedly warned the noble Companions ؓ that previous nations were destroyed due to excessive questioning and hair-splitting. Therefore, you should avoid such things, and do not unnecessarily probe into matters which Allah and His Messenger have not addressed.
