Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Have you considered the case [70] of the one who disbelieves in Our signs and says, "I will surely be given wealth and children"?

Khabab bin Arat’s Wages to be Paid in the Hereafter:

The subject of this verse is a Qurayshi chief, ‘As bin Wa’il Sahmi, as is made clear by the following hadith: Sayyiduna Khabab bin Arat says that I used to work as a blacksmith in Makkah. I made a sword for ‘As bin Wa’il Sahmi. When I went to ‘As to ask for my wages, he said, “I will not pay you your wages until you renounce Muhammad ﷺ.” I said, “Even when Allah gives you death and then brings you back to life, I will not deny Muhammad ﷺ even then.” He said, “Well, if Allah brings me back to life after death, then He will also give me wealth and children (and at that time I will settle your account).” At that time, Allah revealed these verses [بخاري، كتاب التفسير، ترمذي، ابواب التفسير].
This same ‘As bin Wa’il’s son is Sayyiduna ‘Amr bin ‘As ؓ. When he had not yet embraced Islam, he was a representative of the Qurayshi delegation demanding the return of the Muslims who had migrated to Abyssinia. Later, when he accepted Islam, he rendered invaluable services to Islam.
