سُوْرَةُ مَرْيَمَ
Surah Maryam (19) — Ayah 56
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَّبِيًّا ﴿56﴾

The Era and Center of Preaching of Sayyiduna Idris:
Sayyiduna Idrisؑ was sent long before Sayyiduna Nuhؑ. His center of preaching was Babylon. His people were star-worshippers and nature-worshippers. He was an expert in geometry, arithmetic, and astronomy. Also, writing with a pen, sewing clothes, making measuring instruments, and manufacturing weapons began in his era. He was an eloquent orator and was given the title of Hermes al-Haramisah. His people refused to accept his call and turned to opposition. Eventually, he migrated to Egypt, where many people believed in him. On the night of Mi'raj, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met him on the fourth heaven.
