وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا ﴿33﴾
"And Salâm (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"
وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ wal-salāmu And peace (be)

33. Peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day [30] I will die, and the day I will be raised alive.

[30] The remaining points of the speech of Sayyiduna ‘Isa (peace be upon him) at that time were that wherever I may be, by Allah’s mercy, His blessings will remain with me, and I have also been emphatically commanded that as long as I live, I should regularly perform prayers and give zakat. And I should treat my mother well (only the mother is mentioned because he did not have a father, otherwise he would have mentioned him as well). Allah has not placed rebellion or wretchedness in my nature. When I was born, even on that day Allah sent peace upon me, and at the time of death, and even after being raised after death, that is, in this world and in the next world, in any case, Allah will send peace upon me. This was the complete speech that Sayyiduna ‘Isa (peace be upon him) delivered at that time when accusations were being made against his mother.

The Three Children Who Spoke in the Cradle:

It should be noted that in both Bukhari and Muslim there is a lengthy hadith in which it is mentioned that three children from Bani Isra’il spoke in the cradle. One of them is this very Sayyiduna ‘Isa (peace be upon him). His audience were the Jews, and the purpose of his speech has already been explained. The second is the story of Ibn Jurayj the monk, which Muslim in particular has mentioned in great detail. Ibn Jurayj the monk was accused of adultery, so he prayed to Allah for exoneration, then prodded the illegitimate newborn child and asked, “Tell us, who is your father?” So the child spoke up and said, “So-and-so shepherd is my father.” In this way, Allah exonerated Ibn Jurayj the monk from the accusation of adultery. The third child’s audience was his mother, who was enamored with worldly goods, so the child spoke and removed his mother’s misguided misunderstanding. Speaking in the cradle means that the child spoke while still an infant, at a time when he had not yet learned to speak. And this speech in the cradle, in all three incidents, occurred only once. It is not that these children spoke multiple times in that state.
