Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

91. So it was. And We had full knowledge of all that befell Dhul-Qarnayn [75].

The Second Expedition of Dhul-Qarnayn Towards the East:

One meaning of the word ﴿كذٰلك﴾ is that, regardless of what others or historians may say about the circumstances of Dhul-Qarnayn, the real event is what We are narrating, and We know well what situations Dhul-Qarnayn faced and what he possessed. The second meaning of ﴿كذٰلك﴾ is that Dhul-Qarnayn treated this nation in the same way as he had treated the western nation, that is, he taught and invited them to Islam; those who acted rebelliously were dealt with strictly, and those who chose the path of obedience were treated with kindness.
