Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Your Grief Over the Disbelief of the Disbelievers of Makkah:

The circumstances in which this Surah was revealed are briefly depicted in this verse. Mountains of oppression were being unleashed upon the Muslims, and the disbelievers of Makkah were expending all their strength to eradicate Islam. In these circumstances, your utmost desire was that Allah the Exalted grant some of these chiefs of Quraysh, or at least some among them, the ability to accept Islam. In your view, this would bring two particular benefits: first, that people would be saved from Allah’s punishment, which certainly befalls those who persistently disobey, and second, that Islam would be strengthened and the hardships upon the Muslims would be lessened. Day and night, this concern occupied you. Allah the Exalted, comforting you, said that you should not wear yourself out with worry over their guidance. Allah Himself is the protector of His religion; He is closely watching these circumstances, and whatever He wills will surely come to pass. You should simply continue your work of conveying the message of Prophethood; granting guidance is Allah’s task, not yours.
