سُوْرَةُ الْكَهْفِ
Surah Al-Kahf (18) — Ayah 4
وَيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدًا ﴿4﴾

The addressees of this verse include the Christians, who have made the belief in the sonship of Jesus (peace be upon him) to Allah an essential part of their creed; the polytheists of Makkah, who had assigned several daughters to Allah instead of sons, such as Lat, Uzza, and Manat, etc.; and the Jews, who say that Uzair (peace be upon him) is the son of Allah. Thus, the purpose of the revelation of the Quran is to warn the general people, and especially to warn those who attribute offspring to Allah.
