وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا وَرُفَـٰتًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ خَلْقًا جَدِيدًا ﴿49﴾
And they say: "When we are bones and fragments (destroyed), should we really be resurrected (to be) a new creation?"
وَقَالُوٓا۟ waqālū And they say
أَءِذَا a-idhā Is it when
كُنَّا kunnā we are
عِظَـٰمًۭا ʿiẓāman bones
وَرُفَـٰتًا warufātan and crumbled particles
أَءِنَّا a-innā will we
لَمَبْعُوثُونَ lamabʿūthūna surely (be) resurrected
خَلْقًۭا khalqan (as) a creation
جَدِيدًۭا jadīdan new

49. When we have become bones and crumbled particles, will we really be raised up anew [60] and gathered again?

[60] That is, they present as proof of your being bewitched the fact that "the person who says, 'When we die and become dust, and even our bones are gone, we will still be raised up and brought back to life anew'—how can there be any doubt left about his being bewitched?"
