Surah An-Nahl (16) — Ayah 87

وَأَلْقَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلسَّلَمَ ۖ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ ﴿87﴾
And they will offer (their full) submission to Allâh (Alone) on that Day, and their invented false deities [all that they used to invoke besides Allâh, e.g. idols, saints, priests, monks, angels, jinn, Jibrîl (Gabriel), Messengers] will vanish from them.
وَأَلْقَوْا۟ wa-alqaw And they (will) offer
إِلَى ilā to
ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah
يَوْمَئِذٍ yawma-idhin (on) that Day
ٱلسَّلَمَ ۖ l-salama the submission
وَضَلَّ waḍalla and (is) lost
عَنْهُم ʿanhum from them
مَّا what
كَانُوا۟ kānū they used (to)
يَفْتَرُونَ yaftarūna invent

87. On that Day, they will offer their submission to Allah, and all that they used to fabricate will forsake [88] them.

[88] That is, the polytheists who believed that their revered elders and spiritual leaders would intercede for them before Allah and save them—when they see that those very revered personalities are standing before Allah as helpless and powerless servants, then all the tales of easy salvation that they had fabricated they will completely forget.
