Translation by Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan & Dr. Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali
Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allâh Alone) saying (to them): Salâmun ‘Alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of that (the good) which you used to do (in the world)."

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran — Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani
Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.
32. Those righteous, pure in character—when the angels come to take their souls, they say, “Peace [31] be upon you! Enter Paradise as a reward for what you used to do.”
[31] The Comparison of the Treatment of the Believer and the Disbeliever in Barzakh:
Such are the people who possess a pure character; when the angels come to seize the souls of such people, the angels themselves greet them with "Assalamu Alaikum" and first pray for their peace. Then they give them the glad tidings of Paradise, and even before they have completely departed from this world, they are told to enter Paradise. And it is mentioned in the hadiths that when a believer is buried and the questioning by the angels is completed, a window is opened in his grave from the direction of Paradise, from which its fragrance perfumes his mind, and it is said to him: "Sleep in such comfort and happiness as a newlywed bride sleeps." [احمد، بحوالہ مشکوۃ۔ کتاب الجنائز، باب مایقال عند من حضرہ الموت۔ الفصل الثالث] And even before he has completed his sleep, the time of resurrection after death arrives, and he thinks that perhaps he has slept for an hour or two, but he is told that he has slept here until the Day of Gathering. [30: 56] And the disbeliever is subjected to various punishments in the grave, that is, in the realm of Barzakh, but these punishments are so light compared to the punishments of the Hereafter that when they are raised from the grave and see the terrifying scenes of the Plain of Gathering before them, they will say: "Alas! Who has raised us from our sleeping place?" This is exactly what Allah had promised, and the messengers spoke the truth. [36: 52]
