Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

12. He has subjected for you the night and the day, as well as the sun and the moon, and all the stars are subservient to His command. [12] Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.

The Benefits of the Movement of the Sun and Moon:

In this verse, another important human need is mentioned, that is, unless a person gets complete rest, he cannot work further nor can he remain alive. To fulfill this need, Allah Almighty has arranged for the coming and going of night and day according to a fixed calculation. The movement of the sun creates day and night. The sun also provides us with light, sunshine and heat, which are extremely necessary for our lives. Similarly, the moon and stars provide us with light at night. If they did not exist, the night would become so dark and dreadful that not only would it be impossible to see the path, but people would not even be able to see each other. Besides these, there are many other benefits for humans in the sun, moon, and stars, and these are only obtained because Allah Almighty has made these celestial bodies bound to fixed rules for the service of mankind.
