يُنۢبِتُ لَكُم بِهِ ٱلزَّرْعَ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلنَّخِيلَ وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبَ وَمِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ﴿11﴾
With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought.
يُنۢبِتُ yunbitu He causes to grow
لَكُم lakum for you
بِهِ bihi with it
ٱلزَّرْعَ l-zarʿa the crops
وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ wal-zaytūna and the olives
وَٱلنَّخِيلَ wal-nakhīla and the date-palms
وَٱلْأَعْنَـٰبَ wal-aʿnāba and the grapes
وَمِن wamin and of
كُلِّ kulli every kind
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ l-thamarāti (of) fruits
إِنَّ inna Indeed
فِى in
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika that
لَـَٔايَةًۭ laāyatan surely (is) a sign
لِّقَوْمٍۢ liqawmin for a people
يَتَفَكَّرُونَ yatafakkarūna who reflect

11. With this water, He brings forth for you crops, olives, date palms, grapes, and every kind of fruit. Surely in this is a great sign for people who reflect [11].

[11] In the previous verses, Allah Almighty mentioned those animals from which humans obtain meat-based foods, oils, and other benefits. In these two verses, things are mentioned that serve as plant-based foods for our bodies. And in these verses, the point towards which attention is drawn for reflection is that Allah Almighty sends down rain from the sky; with this very water, you yourselves are quenched, and the earth is also watered for you and stores water reserves for you. Then, this same single type of water, the same earth, the same air, and the same sun—yet from the earth, not just one, but millions of types of plants grow. Bushes, herbs, grains, and fruitless and fruit-bearing trees, and then among these plants, grains, and fruit-bearing trees, there are countless varieties. Some of them become food for your cattle, and some serve as your own food. Is it that the evaporation from the seas, then their movement as clouds, then their falling as rain, then this very water irrigating the earth, the earth providing food for all living beings, then the surplus water flowing as streams and rivers to irrigate the land of other regions, and the excess water returning to the sea, and then again becoming vapor from the sea—has this entire cycle arranged food for you and your cattle, but is this system running on its own? Or is it being run by some Wise and All-Aware Being? Or, in this entire system, does any intervention from anyone other than Allah appear anywhere? Although Allah has made natural laws for this whole system, still, the reins of this entire system are in Allah’s hands alone, the proof of which is that in the same place, in the same fixed season, sometimes in a year there is a lot of rain, and sometimes very little. If this were merely the play of natural laws, such a thing would be impossible.
